Install VAPlayer application
Installing the application VAPlayer gives the capabilities to connect a screen to one of our content management systems (CMS), such as IXM Aqua.
Step-by-step instructions for following devices are provided below:
Windows
Make sure the computer is connected to Internet and that you have admin privileges.
Start a web browser, such as Internet Explorer.
Download the VAPlayer installer from https://dmp.visualart.se/install.exe.
Run the installer.
If no other information, enter sp3 as installation code, otherwise write the one handed to you. Leave computer ID as is. The installation code differs depending on CMS solution.
Press Install.
Let the installation proceed, the computer might reboot 2-3 times during this process.
As the installation has finished, the player needs to be activated in the CMS either by secret given on the screen or it's MAC-address depending on CMS solution.
After activation, it can take up to 15 minutes until all settings and content has been downloaded.
Linux CPU: x86 Debian version>=12 (with desktop Gnome/XFCE/LXDE) & Ubunto version>=20
Option 1
Download ISO image for Debian 13 (detailed instructions)
> Flash one USB with Rescuezilla (rescuezilla.com) and use Rufus tool to flash bootable USB
> Copy the ISO image here and unzip to another USB
> Boot with both sticks in the computer and boot from Rescuezilla disk
Option 2
Open a console and type (case sensitive)
> wget https://dms.visualart.se/linux/VAPlayerInstall_x86_64.exe
> chmod a+x VAPlayerInstall_x86_64.exe
> sudo ./VAPlayerInstall_x86_64.exe
Linux CPU: Aarch64/arm64 Debian version>=10 (with desktop Gnome/XFCE/LXDE) & Ubunto version>=18 & Raspberry Pi 3/4/5 64bit
Open a console and type (case sensitive)
> On Raspberry Pi5, Wayland needs to be disabled, "sudo raspi-config" - "Advanced Options" - "Wayland" - "X11" - Reboot, then install below
> wget https://dms.visualart.se/linux/VAPlayerInstall_aarch64.exe
> chmod a+x VAPlayerInstall_aarch64.exe
> sudo ./VAPlayerInstall_aarch64.exe
Android 7.1+
Option 1:
Download installer to a Windows computer from here.
Run the downloaded file.
Enable USB-debugging on the Android device.
Connect a USB cable or use Wi-Fi to connect the Android device to the Windows computer.
Option 2 (if device has a camera)
Factory reset device, tap screen 7 times on same place, choose language and scan below QR-code.

Option 3
> - For Android version > 12, note also the "port" number for ADB Wireless, press Wireless debugging to view
> Start web browser on device
> Go to "https://dms.visualart.se/android/VAPlayerWeb.apk"
> Choose download, choose "Package Manager" to install app
> - On some devices you will need to grant access to webbrowser to install apps
> - Or use "Files" to find the downloaded file VAPlayerWeb.apk and install from there
> - You can also ofcourse have the VAPlayerWeb.apk on a USB drive, and open it with Files to install totally offline
> Start VAPlayer application (or restart Android device)
> When VAPlayer starts you will see a start screen asking for "Use ADB to get Device Owner"
> - Press this button, if a dialogbox appears, press "Allow"
> If the screen reboots after 30 seconds all worked fine, on some player you will need to press "Request Write Settings" at next startup
> If the screen does not reboot, you will have to use option 1 or 2
Sony Android Screens
Option 1, manual configuration
* Accept all questions, and press next until homepage appears
* Do NOT log in with any Google Account
* Make sure you have the latest firmware
- Settings - System - About - System Software update, should be Android >=12, version>=6.8112
* Install our software the normal way, (click build 7 times, enable USB-debug....install VAPlayer app)
* Goto Settings
- Display - Light Sensor off
- Network and Internet - Local Network setup - IPControl
- Remote Device settings - on
- Change to normal+preshared key
- Enter presharded key "8888" for never screens "8888_8888_8888", try only 8888 first
- Simpel IP Control - Enabled
- Power and Energy
- Turn off display after: Never
- Power saving: Off
- Cast = Never
- Apple & Homekit = Airplay: Off
* Start Pro settings app
* Pro settings
- AC Power On - Always
- Wake-Up Signal - Always enabled
- Charge USB during Standbymode - Enable
- Allow App - VAPlayerWeb allowed
* Change to Pro Mode in the Pro app
* Reboot (by unplug/replug power)
* VAPlayer will start
If you need to exit Pro mode, i+, mute, vol+, home
Option 2, use RDM Tool from Sony
Almost all settings can be set using this tool, "denisty" needs to set manually after this
Display needs to have Android 10, version 6.7283 (released in August 2024) or Android 12, if lower Settings - System - About - System Software update, should then be Android 12, do factory reset again
Login to Sony "Remote Device Manager" https://apps.rdm.sony.net
RDM - Device registration - Individial registration - register with serial number or mac address - chose Profile VAPlayer
On display - Do not select languange on the Screen, wait for a code to be visible...if you have bypassed select language, do a factory reset, see bottom of page
RDM Provisioning - Enter the code on the screen - Provision will start, takes around 5-10 minutes!
(will work soon) When our application has started, press F10, our application will be invisible, allow the dialogbox showed on screen, wait..., screen will reboot if all went fine and density will be correct.
If this do not work, see Option 1 to install Android and change density
If you need to factory reset screen
Hold power button + power on until "Erasing" is showing on screen
Samsung Tizen
Tizen version 2.4, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 6.5
During initial setup:
ℹ️Make sure the screen has power and is connected to the Internet. Wireless Connection can be configured at step 4.
Set Installation type to Basic Setup.
Set Display Orientation to Landscape.
Set Auto Power Off to OFF. (Does not exist on the US market)
Wired Connection should now be established and confirmed.
Choose URL Launcher.
Type in given URL (case sensitive), such as https://dms.visualart.se/tizen/sp3, the URL may differ depending on CMS solution.
Skip ‘Connect to RM Server’.
Set the correct Date & Time.
Initial setup is now complete, press Enter.
Press F5 on the keyboard or Home on the remote control, and press URL Launcher / Custom application.
🎉Screen will now download and install the VAPlayer application.

Tizen version 7.0, 8.0
Connect power and a network cable. Power up the screen. Choose “Hi or Hello”
Set up Network - For wired network the screen will check connection immediately. For wireless you need to select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password when prompted.
Smart Signage Privacy Notice - Accept the Privacy Notice by pressing "OK"
Installation Type - Select "Manual Setup"
Display Orientation - Select "Landscape" (Even for Portrait mounted screens we select "Landscape" in this step)
Player Selection - Select “Custom App”
Enter the URL - https://dms.visualart.se/tizen/sp3
Connect to RM Server - Press "Skip"
Auto Power Off - Press "Off"
Set Current Time - Set the current time & date then press "Next" (Make sure the time/date is not in the future as certificate errors might happen)
Set PIN - Set pin to "000000" and press "Next"
Now you will enter the Tizen OS, press “Custom App" to start our player.
🎉It will download, then install. This will normally only take a minute or two. When you see the red background the Installation is Done.
After initial setup:
Make sure the screen has power and is connected to the Internet.
Press Windows button on the keyboard or Menu on the remote control, then go to System and make sure Play via is set to URL Launcher / Custom application.
Press ESC or Exit until the menu is closed. Then press F5 on the keyboard or Home on the remote control.
Go to URL Launcher / Custom application settings and press Enter.
Go to Install web application and type in given URL (case sensitive), such as https://dms.visualart.se/tizen/sp3, the URL differs depending on CMS solution.
Screen will now download and install the VAPlayer application.

Samsung SSSP2 and SSSP3
Press Home on remote or F5 on keyboard
Select "Url launcher Settings"
Enter: https://dms.visualart.se/soc/sp3, press OK
Launch player
LG webOS
webOS 3.2+
ℹ️If LG Remote is locked, hold the settings button(⚙️) for approximately 8 seconds.
Go to EZ Setting and then SI Server Setting, choose SI Server Setting in next step.
Use following Configuration:
SI Server IP (not in use)
Port Number (not in use)
Secure Connection (not in use)
Fully Qualified Domain Name: On
Application Launch Mode: Local
Application Type: IPK
Auto Set: Off
Local Application Upgrade: REMOTE
🎉Confirm and reboot the screen, wait for the application to start.
webOS 3.0
On the welcome screen choose "Go to Settings" and make sure date, time and timezone are set correctly. Close te settings menu by pressing back/escape.
Press and hold the settings button until an empty toast message appears in the top right corner of the screen.
Now press 8, 0, 8, 0 then OK. This will open the SI Server Setting menu.
Use following configuration:
SI Server IP (not in use)
Port Number (not in use)
Secure Connection (not in use)
Fully Qualified Domain Name: On
URL: https://dms.visualart.se/webos/sp3/vaplayer.ipk
Application Launch Mode: Local
Application Type: IPK
Auto Set: Off
Local Application Upgrade: REMOTE
Confirm and reboot the screen, wait for the application to start.

Chrome OS
Make sure the device is unused, if not do a factory reset.
Connect to to network.
Choose Device enrollment
Enter the given username and password.
Brightsign
BrightSign Series 3, 4, 5, 6 and 4K (HD22x, HD102x, HO523, HS1xx, LS42x, LS445, XCxxxx, XD23x, XD103x, XT24x, XT114x, XT2145, AU335, XS156, XD236, XD1036, HS226, HD1026, 4Kxxx)
Option 1 - Installation directly on SD-Card
> Unzip all files/folders in this zipfile to a clean micro SD-card
> Put the Micro-SD card into the BrightSign player and boot it up. It will do several reboots and after around 5 minutes will the IXM Aqua pairing screen/secret be shown.
Option 2 - Installation through inserted USB (USB-C) to SD-Card
> Put the 2 autorun.* files in this zipfile in the root of a USB
> Insert the USB into the BrightSign USB-C slot and reboot it. During the reboot there will be a message that the installation has been copied and a message to remove the USB for the player to continue with the installation (as in option 1 above).
All previous content on the micro-SD will be erased. The Players LS425, LS424 and LS423 all have an USB-C connector. (The USB-disk can be reused in multiple installations)
For new players, BSN cloud can be used to pair the screen directly
USB->Serial devices are supported for RS232 communication using adapters with chipset based on FTDI, pl2303, cp210x
Philips
Philips BDL4550D
Make sure that the screen is factory reseted.
To factory reset Screen, press “Home” button on the remote and then 1888 → OK
Settings → System → System Tools →Factory Reset
Press Factory Reset and then OK
Wait until the screen boots up again
Chose Language
Under Security Settings make sure that “ADB Over Network” is added to the list
Chose Manual Setup
Display Name is optional
Enable Remote Control
Choose preferred network type
If Ethernet is chosed make sure that you enable it in the next menu aswell
Skip Cole media files
And Finish.
Press “Home” on the remote again and choose rotation under “Configuration 2 “ and System Rotation to landscape or Portrait
Go to the home 1888 menu again → Setting → Go to About → Press Build number 7 times until you are a developer
Connect a USB cable to the USB ADB port or have a windows computer connected to the same network (preferred).
add IP for the screen and port 5555.
The screen will have a popup “Allow USB debugging”,
Press “Always allow from this computer” and ok.
Run the installation again.
Follow the instructions for allowing VAPlayerWeb to be pinned.
Reboot the screen.
Know limitations: Black screens between videos and pictures due to only one video tag is supported.
